On Sunday, history was created when legendary Indian Batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar, played his first ever IPL match vs Kolkata Knight Riders. He bowled two overs in his debut match by giving away 17 runs.
Jr. Tendulkar was already picked up by MI franchise since 2021 at a base price of Rs. 20 Lakh. During IPL 2022 auctions, he had been bought by MI franchise for an amount of Rs. 30 Lakh.
Even though, he is the son of the master blaster, Jr. Tendulkar believed in his hard work. Before getting selected for MI squad, he waited for two long years despite seeing his contemporaries like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal etc. already playing for different franchises. Being the son of the God of Cricket, his selection to the squad had always been surrounded by the “Nepotism” debate but, the 23-year old cricketer never gave up.
