Day-5 of the England vs Australia’s fourth test of the Ashes 2023 was expected to bring some action but uninterrupted rain kept the whole match stand still with Australia at 214/5 on the scoreboard. After several inspections, the umpires called stumps and the match was declared to be drawn which led to the Aussies retaining the urn.

Several inspections were held by on-field umpires and at times it appeared as if the covers would be coming off which never happened. Although, it was clear from the weather forecast predictions that rains will affect the last two days of the match, but still some game was expected to happen as on day-4.
